Cruising Alaska `s Glacier Bay National Park

test 249

Alaska  ’s Glacier Bay National Park is a World Heritage Zone and home to bears, whales, otters, sea lions, mountains and more tidewater glaciers than anywhere else on Earth. While the region is one of the summer favourites for big ships cruising along the Inside Passage, only a small vessel can give you a front-row seat on the scenic spectaculars. The M/V Wilderness Adventurer is a 70-passenger cruiser that makes seven-day voyages through the National Park. Expect close encounters with bears and whales, kayak trips among ice from melting glaciers and soggy walks through the tundra following streams filled with thrashing salmon. Facilities on board are comfortable but a long way short of luxury, but you won’t feel short-changed.
