Is Las Vegas child friendly?
MY WIFE AND I ARE PLANNING A TRIP TO THE USA IN AUGUST WITH OUR TWO KIDS AGED 9 AND 12. DO YOU KNOW OF ANY CHILD-FRIENDLY HOTELS AND ACTIVITIES ALONG THE LAS VEGAS STRIP?
Except for those at the very top of the city’s luxury league, all the city’s hotels are child friendly, and most have multiple swimming pools that will keep the kids entertained for several hours. Some have extra facilities and shows that will probably appeal to your children, for example the Shark Reef Aquarium at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, or Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat at The Mirage, but these are user-pays facilities. Residents at these particular hotels get no special deals. Therefore you’re better of choosing a hotel that fits comfortably into your budget, although I’d make a great pool and aquatic facilities a priority, you’re probably going to spend several hours of each day beside the water in the blowtorch heat of August. Just wandering along the Strip in the evening and marvelling at the gondolas at The Venetian and the exploding volcano at The Mirage will give you a couple of hours of free entertainment, and free is precious in Las Vegas. Among the city’s other free attractions, the daily circus act at Circus Circus, the Botanical Gardens at Bellagio and the Fremont Street Experience are fantastic for all ages. Las Vegas also has plenty of novelty rides and attractions such as the Adventuredome, the Canyon Blaster and Insanity, and no doubt these will prove irresistible.
