Tour Rome in a Fiat 500

We take in the sights of Rome aboard a fleet of tiny Fiat 500s, 1960s vintage. Zipping through the back alleys and along cobbled streets, there’s no better way to see the Colosseum.

A medieval hilltown

We’ll explore neighbouring hilltowns including Trevi, built around the 13th century Church of San Francesco. From here we’ll explore trails through olive groves lined with shrines, once used by pilgrims en route to Rome.

Umbria truffle hunting

Truffle hunt

Above the tiny village of Pettino, we’ll hunt for truffles. It’s a day of surprises, with sheep, truffle hounds, fresh pecorino cheeses and a wonderful meal of fresh pasta with truffles in a farmhouse kitchen.

In Rome we stay at Martis Palace Hotel, just 50 metres from fabulous Piazza Navona. In Montefalco, at Palazzo Bontadosi, a glamorous four-star hotel in the piazza at the top of the medieval town.

Taste Italy ‘s finest olive oils and Sagrantino wines, grown only around the town of Montefalco. At Redibis we’ll enjoy fine, contemporary Italian cuisine beneath Bevagna’s Roman amphitheatre.
